LiveSimply
We begin our journey inspired by the teachings of Jesus and Catholic Social Teaching. We are responding to Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ in that our ‘responsibility within creation and our duties towards nature and the Creator are an essential part of our faith”. We are listening to the ‘cry of the earth and the cry of the poor’ and our responses echo the greatest commandments to love God and love our neighbour. We have received a Registration Certificate which recognises that we are working towards becoming a LiveSimply parish – we pledge to Live simply, Live sustainably and Live in solidarity with the poor.

The LiveSimply Team at Woking Parish have launched a fantastic new LiveSimply Award website packed with helpful tips, blogs, resources, future plans and links to local initiatives that they hope will support others on their LiveSimply journeys.
CAFOD’s LiveSimply Award is an opportunity for Catholic communities – parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies – to answer the call for us to care for our common home and stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers around the world, with the bishops of England and Wales encouraging all parishes and schools to work towards the award
as a way of protecting the world which God has entrusted to us.
Speaking about the new website, a representative from the parish said: “We invite you to join in the vision for our parishes, as described by Fr Rob Esdaile, that ‘by our contemplation of the beauty of nature, and by the changes we make to our lifestyle…that we may tread more lightly on this beautiful earth and hand it on safely to our children and our children’s children. If you feel inspired to get involved, please do!”
The website is a valuable resource with tips for living simply and a calendar of events in the local area and online that may be of interest including workshops, informative talks and retreats.
